Payment Options for Individual Income Tax

To make paying taxes more convenient and hassle-free, the Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) allows the use of electronic checks and credit cards, in addition to making payment by mail, when paying declarations of estimated tax for individuals, current individual income taxes owed to the District, or past due income taxes.

OTR will receive the electronic check/credit card transaction from the vendor and immediately apply it to the taxpayer's account. Official Payments Corporation will charge taxpayers a nominal fee for the credit card transaction based on 2.5 percent of the transaction amount.
