PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 9, 2000 District to Host Taxpayer Information Day on Saturday, March 11 WASHINGTON, DC - The District of Columbia's Office of Tax and Revenue will host a Taxpayer Information Day where customer service representatives will be on hand to help taxpayers prepare District taxes, answer any questions, and resolve taxpayer-related issues. Taxpayers are encouraged to bring all relevant documentation and materials with them. "We are trying to make it as easy as possible for people to pay their taxes, receive timely refunds, and have as many different avenues as possible to ask for and receive taxpayer assistance and education. This will lead to voluntary compliance with tax laws and better revenue generation for the District," says Dr. Natwar M. Gandhi, Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Tax and Revenue.
