Helpful Tips to Remember as Tax Filing Deadline Nears
(Washington, DC) As the April 15 tax filing deadline nears, the District of Columbia Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) reminds taxpayers that fulfilling their obligations can be done quickly and easily. And if taxpayers have questions, OTR is ready to assist them.
"I encourage taxpayers to file electronically using the District's free Electronic Taxpayer Service Center (eTSC) or the federal/state e-File program," said Deputy Chief Financial Officer Phil Brand. "These services are fast and friendly, and taxpayers who file electronically normally receive their refunds within five to seven business days."
The eTSC also offers tax forms and instructions, important filing information, and helpful filing tips.

Saturday service is extended for April 5 and April 12, from 9 am to 1 pm. On Tuesday, April 15, extended hours will be from 8:15 am to 8 pm.
