You must file your appeal within 30 days of the date of your assessment notice. The statutory deadline for filing appeals is April 1. New owners have certain appeal rights set forth in DC Code 47-825.01 (f-1). These rights vary as well as the agency to which the appeal is filed depending upon the date of purchase and certain other conditions. Please contact the Assessment Division for the proper forms and further explanation regarding these rights and timeframes.
