The Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) will hold its free seminar for tax practitioners on Thursday, January 7, 2016, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, at 1101 4th Street, SW, Suite 250W, Washington, DC 20024.
The one-day seminar will focus on what’s new for the upcoming filing season, OTR’s new computer system, the Modernized Integrated Tax System (MITS), and how it will give taxpayers and practitioners more tools and improved online access, and updates on a number of tax law and form changes.
“We want to give tax preparers a chance to meet with us, be briefed on changes, and get their questions answered in advance of the filing season,” said Stephen Cordi, deputy chief financial officer, OTR.
The seminar is sponsored by OTR’s Customer Service Administration and is open to any tax preparer.
“With this seminar, we hope to arm tax preparers with the resources needed to meet the needs of their clients,” said Eva Liggins, director of OTR’s Customer Service Administration.
The seminar is free but registration is required.
Seating is limited, therefore, early registration is encouraged.
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits will not be awarded.
Note: Registration for the 2016 Tax Practitioner’s Institute is now closed.
