OTR Will Be Closed on Friday, April 15, in Observance of Emancipation Day

The Office of Tax and Revenue will be closed on Friday, April 15, in observance of the District's Emancipation Day. The agency will resume normal operations at 7:30 am Monday, April 18.

Filing Deadline

Taxpayers are reminded that their 2015 individual income tax returns are due on Monday, April 18 since the normal filing deadline of April 15 is a legal holiday.

Free Tax Preparation Assistance

Customer service specialists in the Walk-In Center, located at 1101 4th Street, SW, Suite W270, will prepare District individual income tax returns at no cost for anyone requesting the service. Taxpayers must bring a copy of their completed federal tax return, applicable schedules, and W-2s or statements showing DC withholdings.
