The Tax Department does not charge any fees or receive any type of payment from any of the companies listed on this site. To file by paper, you can obtain forms via the website at MyTax.DC.gov and select Forms, or from several locations around the District. Visit Location of Tax Forms to find out where.
The District of Columbia is requesting additional information in an effort to combat stolen-identity tax fraud and ensure that your hard-earned tax refund goes to you. Please provide the voluntary requested information from your driver's license or District of Columbia identification card. Your return will not be rejected if you do not have a driver's license or District of Columbia identification card, and providing the information could help process your return quicker.
DC Electronic filing for TY2020 is closed. In 2022, the web portal, MyTax.DC.gov, will offer the ability to file the D40/Schedules with certain limitations for registered taxpayers.
