Payment Options

Payment Options for Businesses

To make paying taxes more convenient and hassle-free, the Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) allows the use of:
•    Electronic Check/ACH Debit
•    Credit/Debit Cards
•    ACH Credit
•    Mail

OTR will receive the electronic transaction from the vendor and apply it to the taxpayer's account.  The District's third-party payment vendor will charge taxpayers a nominal fee for the credit/debit card transaction based on 2.5 percent of the transaction amount.

•    Employer/Payor Withholding Tax
•    Corporate Franchise Tax extension or estimated payments
•    Unincorporated Business Franchise Tax extension or estimated payments
•    Partnership extension

Payment Options Instructions
Electronic Check Make an electronic payment from your bank account at no additional fee.
There is no fee for e-check/ACH debit payments.

Credit/Debit Card Make a payment using your credit or debit card. A convenience fee of 2.5% will be charged by the credit card processor for each payment.

Check or Money Order Make your check or money order payable to the DC Treasurer and write your FEIN/Social Security number, daytime phone number and the tax year on your payment.
