Payment Options

Payment Options 

You can pay your taxes in several ways:

1. Credit or Debit Card

  • Pay online at MyTax.DC.gov.
  • A 2.25% convenience fee applies.
  • For more details, check the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) guide.

2. ACH Credit

  • You send a payment file through your bank using a specific format (NACHA).
  • See the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) guide for instructions.

3. ACH Debit

  • Log in to MyTax.DC.gov and enter your bank info directly on the payment page.
  • No fee is charged.

4. Check or Money Order

  • Mail your payment.
  • Make it payable to "DC Treasurer".
  • Include your Taxpayer ID Number (TIN), daytime phone number, and the tax year on the check or money order.
  • Find the correct mailing address.

Installment Agreements

If you owe taxes in Washington, DC, the law says you should pay the full amount when you file your tax return. But if you can’t pay everything at once, you may be able to request an Installment Agreement.
